Holo Versions

Cosmos Holo

Holographic effect with stars and circles in the background.
Introduced with Base Set 2, used for all Holo cards up to Call of Legends.
Later brought back mainly for Promo cards (Black Star, GameStop, Theme Deck & Blister Exclusives...).

Reverse Holo []

The entire card (except the artwork) has a foil effect, often with set-specific patterns (energies, symbols, etc.).
A variant of regular cards in the set, commonly found in booster packs.

Starlight Holo

Foil with fine, sparkling microdots, creating a subtle starry effect across the artwork.
Used in early sets (Jungle, Base Set, Fossil) and some modern promotional cards.
Not to be confused with Cosmos Holo.

Cracked Ice Holo

Foil with a shattered glass or ice-like effect (also known as Shattered Holo).
Exclusive to Theme Decks and Box Sets.

Sheen Holo

Smooth, glossy foil across the artwork, without decorative patterns.
Used for all Holo Rares in the XY era and in many promo cards.

Non-Holo

Label used to distinguish non-foil reprints from the original holo version.
Exclusive to Theme Decks, Blisters, and Battle & Build Kits.
