Insert a tick mark by using Alt codes for tick marks

Using Alt codes to insert tick marks in Microsoft Word is a quick and efficient method, though it does require memorizing specific numerical codes. Once you know the codes for your desired check symbols, you can quickly input them using the numeric keypad for immediate insertion into your document.

Note: This method requires a keyboard with an independent numeric keypad typically located on the right side. If your keyboard lacks one, the Alt codes will not function.

In your document, place the cursor where you want to insert a check sign.

While holding the Alt key, type 0252 on the numeric keypad. Tip: Release the Alt key after typing the code.
