Instagrammers, TikTokers and friends and family are all ready, willing and able to influence your travel itinerary. Delta is getting in on the game, connecting its customers to travel insight from people who live in the destinations their passengers fly to.
Delta Locals is available online and on in-flight seatback entertainment. The digital-only product connects travelers with chefs, artists, creatives and others in communities Delta services. They offer, “authentic recommendations from a local’s perspective—from the best chicken sandwich to where to have the best beach bonfire to the spot you have to grab a great drink—with immersive, story-driven video guides,” a spokesperson said.

Four destinations are currently featured- Los Angeles, Tokyo, Patagonia and Sicily. Additional global destinations will launch in 2026.
Those heading to Los Angeles are invited to explore Jocelyn’s world. She’s a native Angeleno who works as a vegan chef and shows off her city’s local markets, restaurants, and hang-out spots on the website.
Sara, a Japanese online celebrity, invites Delta passengers along with her to preview places to enjoy sake, and shares her top places for inspiration.
Travelers on their way to Sicily can preview their destination through the eyes of Alice, a painter from Catania who shows off her favorite winery, the Rodolico Shipyard and Instagrammable Lunaria Bookshop and Gammazita Bar.
“With Delta Locals, we’re inviting customers to experience destinations through the neighborhoods, favorite spots and everyday rituals that only locals truly know. As we enter our next century of travel, Delta is bringing the power of technology and the authenticity of real human insight to our customers to help them create richer, more meaningful experiences that go far beyond the guidebooks,” Alicia Tillman, chief marketing officer at Delta told Newsweek.
In recent years, in-flight magazines that often featured insider peeks at destinations, are no longer available on planes. United Airlines offers its Hemispheres magazine content on its website, including suggested places to go and three-day itineraries. KLM publishes its quarterly Flying Dutchman magazine exclusively for Flying Blue loyalty rewards members.
