McMahon, Martha "Mirth" (nee Blanke). Born in St. Louis on St. Patrick's Day in 1944, passed away and went to Heaven on July 18, 2024 at the age of 80. St. Patrick welcomed her home with her parents Martha and William Blanke.
Beloved wife and life partner of William McMahon for 59 years. Beloved caring mother and mother-in-law of Martha Acker (Andy), Barbara Burket (Warren), Alison Duffy, William McMahon, Jr. (Martha) and Margot Monser (Edward).
Loving grandmother of Nicholas Burket, Arden Duffy, Sydney Acker, Jack Burket, Gavin Duffy, Drew Acker, Neilly McMahon, Hayden Duffy and Wiliam (Liam) McMahon.
Loving brother of William F. "Rick" Blanke. Our dear aunt and sister-in-law.
Mirth and Bill were high school sweethearts. She attended Villa Duchesne Academy from kindergarten through high school, Mount Vernon College in Washington, D.C., ran the Armchair General Toy Soldier Shop and was a long-standing fixture for 46 years at the Bellerive Country Club pool with her 5 children and closest friends of Caryl Simon, Susan Jansen, Pat Reading and Liz Allison (otherwise known as the "pool ladies of Bellerive").
In her last year she was lovingly cared for by her family and the wonderful care-givers at Mason Pointe in Town and Country. Her last words to her family were "I Love You All".
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 1, 10:00 am at the St. Louis Abbey (Priory)/ St. Anselm Parish. The graveside will be private, family only.
