Egyptian General Authority of Survey :Used by the Egyptian General Authority of Survey, this is the standard method in Egypt, Syria, and many countries in Africa and the Middle East.
Standard (Shafi, Hanbali, Maliki) :This is the majority view. Asr prayer time begins when the shadow of an object is equal to its actual height.
Sunnah before Fard: None rak'ahs.
Fard (Obligatory): 3 rak'ahs.
Sunnah after Fard: 2 rak'ahs.
